Tender Colors of a Heavy City

The urban environment carries the weight of concrete, structures, and imposed norms, yet within its colors lies a paradoxical softness. These shades embody the intentions of planners, the emotions of communities, and the silent compromises of history. This series explores how the «heaviness» of architecture transforms into personal experience—into vulnerable perception and into the question of who we become within structures built for everyone but lived by each individual.

The urban environment is more than a functional setting; it is an emotional projection. Concrete structures, painted in the «colors of necessity, ” embody the intentions of planners, the collective expectations of society, and the silent compromises of history. During construction, emotions and values shift, leaving their imprint on material and form.

In this series, I explore the colors of the city as a mirror of inner perception. Facades, walls, and structures become codes that affect me directly, shaping memory, rhythm, and mood. The work reflects on how impersonal architecture transforms into personal experience—into shades of vulnerability and resistance, into the question of who we become within an environment built for everyone yet lived by each individual.
